Delete your Yummiable account
On this page
Yummiable is made by Whats4Dinner LLC. This page explains how a grown-up deletes their Yummiable account, what that deletes, and what is deleted separately. A grown-up account is optional, and children never have one. Our Terms of Service, Privacy Notice and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy say more.
Delete your account in the app
- Open Yummiable on a phone where you are signed in.
- Go to Settings → Grown-up account.
- Delete your account there.
If you own a family with other grown-ups in it, hand the family over to one of them first. If you are the family's only grown-up, deleting your account deletes the family too.
Ask us to delete it by e-mail
If you no longer have the app, or cannot reach Settings, write to hello@yummiable.com and ask us to delete your account. Tell us how you sign in (Apple, Google, an e-mail address or a phone number) and the address or number you use, so we can find your account. You do not need to install the app again. You can ask us to delete your books the same way.
What deleting your account deletes
- Your sign-in at Clerk, our sign-in service: the e-mail address or phone number you sign in with, and what Apple or Google gave it.
- What our account service keeps for you: Clerk's number for your account, the name your family calls you, your family and its phones (each one's kind, such as iPhone), the consents you gave and, if you sign in with Apple on an iPhone or iPad, the token Apple gave for that sign-in, which is revoked at Apple.
- Your place in your family. You leave the family, which stays for its other grown-ups. If you were its only grown-up, the family is deleted: its encrypted copy on our server is erased at once, and all the family's storybooks are deleted from our servers, with their pictures. The books already on your phone stay on it.
What it does not delete
- Your subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; we cannot cancel a store purchase for you.
- What is on each phone. Children's profiles, coins and food diary live in the app on each phone, and stay there until you delete them in Settings or delete the app. If your phone's own backup is turned on, the operating system may also keep the app's data in that encrypted backup under your account.
- Books you made. Books on a phone's or a subscription's bookshelf stay on our story service until they are deleted; a family's storybooks go only with the family (above). Delete them in Manage my books, or write to us to have them deleted at any time.
- PDFs you saved. They are yours, and are not touched.
Delete some data and keep your account
- A book: delete it in Manage my books. It is removed, with its earlier versions, from our story service and from the phone, and the service's backup copies drop it within about two days. A Basic bookshelf belongs to its phone, so deleting the app does not delete it: delete its books in Manage my books. When Premium ends, a Premium bookshelf's books stay until you delete them, which you can still do from a phone that used that bookshelf or, for a family's bookshelf, as one of its grown-ups; or write to us.
- A child's profile: delete it in Settings. It is erased from the phone and, if Family sync is on, from the family's copy on our server the next time that phone shares.
- Family sync: turn it off in Settings. The family's copy on our server is deleted at once, and each phone keeps its own.
- The whole family: delete it in Settings. It is deleted for every grown-up: its encrypted copy on our server is erased at once, and all the family's storybooks are deleted from our servers, with their pictures. The books already on your phone stay on it. Only a grown-up whose own subscription is active can do this.
- The food diary: to keep a copy before deleting anything, export it from Settings.
What we keep that is not linked to you
- Crash reports carry no account, name, profile or device number. Our service keeps counts of repeated crashes for 30 days.
- Cloudflare, which runs our services, keeps short technical records of their requests for up to 7 days to keep them running and stop abuse.
- Dish photos and the drawings made from them are never saved, so there is nothing to delete.
- Cost records: what each story and dish photo cost the allowance, with a fingerprint of the request, under the allowance's random number (never a name). They go a year after the allowance period they were charged to ends.
